As of January 1, 2026, the State of North Carolina will be a full member of the Interstate Medical Licensure Compact. The North Carolina Medical Board will begin accepting applications for North Carolina Compact licenses from physicians in other Compact states on that date. In addition, physicians licensed in North Carolina who wish to obtain Compact licenses in other states may begin the application process starting January 1, 2026.
