We received an email from the IMLCC with the good news that Michigan will remain part of the Interstate Medical Licensure Compact!
STATUS UPDATE – As of 03/19/26
“There are strong indications, based on public statements from legislative leaders in Michigan, that a bill will be passed on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, allowing Michigan to continue uninterrupted participation in the IMLCC. Governor Whitmer’s office has indicated that the bill will be signed into law prior to the March 28, 2026 deadline.
This means that once passed and signed into law, there will be NO interruption in Michigan’s participation in the IMLCC or a physician’s ability to practice with licenses previously issued.
We will continue to monitor the situation closely – in the unlikely event the Michigan Legislation fails, or if the Michigan Governor does not sign it into law, we will send you an immediate follow-up email.
If you have any additional questions regarding your Michigan licensure, we have been asked to direct you to the Michigan Bureau of Professional Licensing at BPLHelp@michigan.gov or call Michigan BPL at (517) 241-0199.”
